Training Plans

Orientation

FTL can team up with you to deliver an orientation that aligns with your operational practices and meets §746.1303 requirements.

Specialized Courses

The Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS, and Early Brain Development course is a required 2-hour training for programs serving infants under 24 months, as outlined in §746.1305(b)(1–3).

Transportation Safety

This training equips caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to transport children in accordance with §746.1316 safely.

Pre-Service

All Pre-Service courses are 1 hour each and include an assessment, a personalized certificate, and documentation of instructor qualifications, as required by §746.1305. We offer 13 courses that meet these standards.

Pediatric CPR

Pediatric CPR training ensures caregivers are prepared to respond safely and effectively in emergency situations involving children, as required by §746.1315.

Water Safety

Water Safety Training provides caregivers with the knowledge and skills to supervise children safely around water, as required by §746.1325.

Annual Training

All Pre-Service courses are 1 hour each and include an assessment, a personalized certificate, and documentation of instructor qualifications, as required by §746.1305. We offer 13 courses that meet these standards.

  • What content is included in each training course?

  • Are your trainers qualified?

    Yes. All FTL trainers meet or exceed state requirements for trainer qualifications. Our instructors hold relevant educational credentials, professional experience in early childhood and residential care, and documented qualifications for each course they deliver. Certified American Red Cross instructors provide pediatric CPR courses.

  • Can I purchase a course for a staff member or someone other than myself?

    Absolutely. You can purchase training for staff, caregivers, or other team members. Simply select the option “Purchase for Someone Else” during checkout, and the course will be assigned to the correct learner.

  • Do courses meet state licensing requirements?

    Yes. All FTL courses meet Texas DFPS requirements for Orientation, Pre-Service, Annual Training, and specialized trainings such as Pediatric CPR, Transportation Safety, and Water Safety.

  • How long do I have to complete a course?

    Individual courses typically allow 30 days of access, while bundles allow 6 months. Annual subscriptions give full-year access to all available courses.

  • Do courses come in Spanish or other languages?

    Yes. Many courses are available in Spanish, with additional languages available based on program needs.

  • Can FTL tailor training specifically for our program?
